Objective and description of the project:

The objective of this project was to construct toilet blocks in 20 Nos. ICDS Centres  of Harishchandrapur II Block ; and also generate necessary awareness so that sanitation and hygiene methods could be applied by the people. A description of the project is hereby facilitated:

  • Construction of household latrine
  • Awareness was necessarily generated in the pre-implementation phase.
  • Post implementation of the household latrine system a follow-up was duly undertaken to ensure its usage by all the members of the household.
  • A holistic sanitation and hygiene methods were imbibed.

The main objective of this project was to establish community impregnation of bed net programmes through the working of the micro plan. This was put to force in seven Sub Centres under Harishchandrapur II Block.

The various implementations that have been duly necessitated through the construction of low-cost latrines at primary schools of Harishchandrapur I Block are as follows:

  • Construction of institutional sanitary blocks at the primary schools has been necessitated.
  • Meticulous facilitation of awareness generation has been put into force duly.
  • Post construction of the sanitary block significant follow-up has been executed to ensure its rightful usage.

Facilitation of awareness generation measures of safety plan pertaining to the masses were conducted.

The description and some notable achievements are as follows:

  • Malda being one of the disaster-prone areas, awareness generationwas highly necessary andwas induced crucially.
  • The precautionary measures for disaster management were essentially imbibed.
  • Multiple measures of sanitation were initiated and the use of safe drinking water to mitigate diseases was duly conducted.
