Objective and description of the project:

The objective of this project was to install Arsenic free drinking water supply and generate necessary awareness about the same in Rashidabad Gram Panchayat of H Chandrapur I Block.

• It provided a safe source of drinking water.
• An awareness was created on the use of safe sources of drinking water.

Objective and description of the project:

The objective of the project was to construct an individual-level soak pit for Liquid Waste Management from spot sources included under SBM(G) programme of the VBD control plan in Harishchandrapur I Panchayat Samity; along with mass media communication through the display of banners, distribution of leaflets, and subsequent training of the stakeholders along with an assessment of the training programme. A detailed description of the project is facilitated below:

• Training and IEC for Soak pits in Gram Panchayats on awareness generation and technical know-how on soak pits, utilization and operations.
• Visual and pictorial communication through the display of banners, distribution of leaflets, and an interactive session with the people through flip charts was duly conducted.
• Training of stakeholders with the use of flip charts and rapid assessment/ feedback on training programmes in Malda district for the Construction of individual level Soak pits, surface drains, and platforms for Liquid Waste Management from spot sources included under the SBM(G) programme.

Objective and description of the project:

The objective of this project was to construct Individual Households Latrine that would cater to personal sanitation practices and generate awareness prior to the implementation of sanitation practices to accomplish the goal of making Harishchandrapur I and II Block as Open Defecation Free Block.

A detailed description of the project is facilitated hereby:

• Completed construction of individual household latrines.
• Conducted pre-implementation awareness generation on sanitation practices.
• Post-implementation monitoring and follow-upwere necessitated to ensure the usage of toilets by all members of the households. This has resulted in 100% safe sanitation practices.
• The block was declared as an Open defecation-free block.
• With the successful accomplishment of this project the district has declared itself as Open Defecation Free(ODF)

Objective and description of the project:

The objective of this project was to construct community toilets in different blocks of HC Pur I and HC II Block to ensure efficient sanitation and hygiene practices in the community and also generating awareness for the same. A detailed description of the project is hereby facilitated:

• Community toilet blocks were constructed in the blocks for safe sanitation usage.
• It was also ensured that efficient operations werehappening.
• Proper maintenance of the communitywas undertaken.
