Objective and description of the project:

The objective of this project was to install Arsenic arsenic-free drinking water supply and generate necessary awareness about the same in Mahendrapur Gram Panchayat of H Chandrapur I Block.

  • It provided a safe source of drinking water.

The objective of this project was the observation of Sanitation Week by UNICEF by focusing on water, sanitation, health and hygiene.

  • Meticulous observation of the Sanitation Week initiated by UNICEF in the district of Malda.
  • It was observed at over six blocks of Malda district covering around 40 Gram Panchayats.
  • The project diligently focused on the various aspects of the Water, Sanitation, Health issues
  • Emphasis was put on the multiple facets of hygiene.

Objective and description of the project:

The objective of the project was to construct an individual-level soak pit for Liquid Waste Management from spot sources included under SBM(G) programme; along with mass media communication through the display of banners, distribution of leaflets, and subsequent training of the stakeholders along with an assessment of the training programme.

A detailed description of the project is facilitated below:

  • Training and IEC for Soak pits in Gram Panchayats on awareness generation and technical know-how on soak pits, utilization, and operations.
  • Visual and pictorial communication through the display of banners, distribution of leaflets, and an interactive session with the people through flip charts was duly conducted.
  • Training of stakeholders with the use of flip charts and rapid assessment/ feedback on training programmes in Malda district for the Construction of individual level Soak pits, surface drains, and platforms for Liquid Waste Management from spot sources included under SBM(G) programme.
