Child Development– The covid pandemic has had a massive impact on child education and development. Became the biggest victim of this pandemic, where children dropped out of their school and got married or become child labors. Malda district one of the most backward districts of West Bengal and has experienced the harmful negative effect of the pandemic.
The organization, Harishchandrapur Pally Unnayan Samity tried to reconnect the children with their school through awareness campaigns, household visits, and one-to-one intervention. To minimize the ill effects of the pandemic, they have organized awareness camps against child labors, child marriages, and trafficking. Government officials from the block level engaged as resource persons in those events to sensitize the community.
